If you ever needed a demostration that the fediverse doesn't represent the general population, here's one.

The only reason I know the term "radio button" is that
in the 1990s,
I read two books
about
Turbo Vision
and wrote a lot of code in
Turbo Pascal
with the knowledge I gained.

Amir E. Aharoni@aharoni@wikis.world (2026-08-21 10:44:32) LanguageTool was a fantastic rule-based LGPL-licensed advanced spelling and grammar checker that worked in many languages.

It was much better than its competitor Grammarly in every imaginable way.

Then its developers changed it into "AI", and it started occasionally making languages mistakes.

And today they said that it will be available only for paying customers.

Who here knows Java well enough to fork it? It's still LGPL as far as I can see.
