she writes it in a way you have to think about a little, which then makes it feel even worse. like "in this book the rapist is a thousand-years-old thought being who grooms children and injects itself into their brains to take them over" or "in this book the rapist is a vampire who injects the victims with venom that makes them really like it actually

worst is "what if you woke up one day to an alien who said 'your whole species is gone, but we kept you around for breeding to make a new hybrid species. of course you're free to refuse and die though; consent matters
