You WILL rent CPU cycles and you WILL run binary blobs. Just read an article celebrating the first "conflict" to corperate interests AI is having with rapid decompilation of closed source software. (examples given include adobe creative suites and Sony's PlayStation 5 libraries) The death of closed source software (this is what we are witnessing) is of great concern given it coincides with the decimation of cheap consumer grade compute. I do not believe this was intentional, but monopoly tech oligarchs will exploit this to continue to restrict local compute and priortise "cloud" computing through industrial production manipulation (a practice admitted to multiple times in the chip sector). These cloud CPU servers will certainly not compile code from "untrusted" vendors. This is the haute bourgise software vendors only pancea to the real threat posed to closed source projects, total consumer compiler death and a greatly reduced open source accessibility. Please do not take this as a defence of closed source or condemnation on crackers, please continue. But expect bourgise retaliation shortly and these silicon valley nerds might be a little more effective than warner music vs Napster.

@Jvnk0 they are going to try but it's not in the interest of 99% of businesses to do this.
